Always Noun + の + position word. 机の上 = 'the top of the desk'.
Examples
かばんは椅子の下にあります。
かばんはいすのしたにあります。
The bag is under the chair.
郵便局は銀行の隣です。
ゆうびんきょくはぎんこうのとなりです。
The post office is next to the bank.
